Title: Ring Patterns
Post by: elloree23 on April 17, 2014, 02:59:09 PM
I am using an IBi110 with CallCentric. What feature/setting controls the ring pattern of an incoming call? Is it possible to have an incoming call from a specific phone number trigger a different ring pattern? Any tips on how to do that? I would also like to know the same info for the call waiting pattern. Thanks in advance for your consideration!

Ring patterns are found in Ring Profile A/B under Ring Settings.

The ring profile and pattern are set in the SP service.

The defaults are
Voice Services -> SP1/2 Service  -> X_RingProfile: A
Voice Services -> SP1/2 Service  -> X_DefaultRing: 1

The above will point to Ring Pattern #1 and Call Waiting Tone #1.
These are set by SP Service and can't be changed dynamically.

If you have a free SP trunk this is what you can do:

Leave SP1 with default Ring #1.
Set SP2 to Ring #2.

In Callcentric create a second extension like 101.
Register SP2 to extension 101.
In Callcentric Call Treatments route VIPs to your main account and all others to Extension 101.
VIPs will get Ring Pattern #1.
All others will get Ring Pattern #2.

That's the best I can do.

Many modern phones with electronic ringers have their own ring patterns which over-ride or modifiy the pattern of the ringing voltage applied to it. With some you are able to associate ring tones/patterns to specific incoming CIDs.
