Title: Echo when downloading file on networked computer
Post by: ajm258 on May 01, 2011, 06:15:14 PM
I have time warner cable internet: 10 MBPS down ; 384 MBPS up

Today, one of the computers on my network was downloading a large windows update.  At the same time, I received a call and the audio had a large echo.

Is there a way to tweak a router to tell it that the obi always needs some portion of the bandwidth dedicated to it?

Your router must have some kinds of flow control for different IP/UDP RTP port numbers such that some good enough bandwidth is reserved for VoIP.
