It seems like OBi does realize that these forums are contributing to their bottom line, so it makes fiscal sense to restore this functionality.

Glad to hear it. It's frustrating trying to monitor posts manually when you are involved in so many. I know I have missed a lot of replies. Just in time for G-day too.
It's quite odd thus far - a couple came to me - and then they seemed to stop again...?
