Title: Buying a used Obi device -- is it ok?
Post by: logicliker on July 23, 2014, 12:21:53 AM
Just want to know if there are any account-restriction issues when buying an Obi device used. E.g. If the original owner has the device attached/registered with an account, can the new owner create a new account and attach it to their own Obi account without limitation/issue?

Also, is there any reason at all to get the Obi100 over the Obi110 when they are almost identical in price right now?

???

The 110 can do everything the 100 can offer.  Plus the 110 has the additional facility of being able to connect to POTS lines.

100 is physically smaller and should consume a bit less power.

You need a new device if you want to use the ring.to service.

I got one from eBay and sure enough it was already registered (sold as "new"....) - took 2 min to re-register it.
Doesn't look like a security concern, but I still decided to only manage it locally and not through ObiTalk.
