Title: Obi 100
Post by: Sriobi100 on September 24, 2014, 02:52:18 PM
Bought a new obi100 and trying to set it up.
Power LED is solid green, and internet LED is blinking, but the phone LED is turned off. I tried resetting few times, I opened ports in my router, enabled dmz for the ip address. No matter what I do the phone LED is still turned off, and when I dial ***1 or **9 222 222 222 nothing happens, no voice, no sound, nothing.

When I reboot the device the phone LED blinks once and goes off and never comes back on.

Please help.
Thanks in advance
Sri

BTW I can access the device using web interface, so I do have the correct IP address and everything.

The Phone LED off is normal behavior.
It will not light until a trunk is defined and registered on SP1.

Do you get dial tone when you take the phone off-hook?

To use the echo test you must be connected to the OBiTalk server.
Login to the Obi100.
You should get a status screen.
At the bottom of the page is OBiTalk server status.
It should be "Normal(user mode)"

The ***1 should always work.

Try resetting the OBi100.
On the bottom of the OBi100 there is an access hole.
It's a little larger than the vent holes.
Use a paper clip to press the reset button and hold until the OBi reboots.
When it reboots the power LED will turn red.

Is your phone defective?
Do you have another phone to try on the OBi100.

Thank you for the reply

I did reset the device multiple times, using both web interface, and pressing the hole using paperclip. No success

The status does say "Normal (User Mode)". I tried two different phones with no success.

You didn't answer my question on dial tone.
Even if you are getting dial tone the OBi100 is not recognizing the phone keys.

You might have a dead phone port.
You can open a support ticket and maybe Obihai can determine if it's dead.

No I do not have a dial tone. No sound at all after the numbers are punched in.

Thank you

Did you try using a different phone or maybe a different cable?
