Title: Speed dial *74 code is rejected
Post by: Johnzw on October 28, 2014, 01:37:09 PM
Hello,

I've recently set up an OBI 100 and am using it with google voice. I tried to set up speed dial using the "star" codes but am unable to do so. When I dial "*74" it plays the SIT and says "the number you dialled *74 was rejected by the service provider. Reason is 404"

Interestingly, *75 & 76 appear to work *75 of course just says that the "value is unavailable." but as nothing has been configured this is not surprising. Setting speed dials.

I assume that this means that somehow, the OBI is incorrectly passing *74 out as if it were a phone number. "Star Code Profile" shows the 74 is set to the correct "default" value.

Don't see anything else in the forum similar to this or in the manual.

— Thanks,
A noob.

Are you dialing anything AFTER the *74?

The Obi expects a speed dial number, etc

From the technical manual:

*74 Speed Dial Set-Up (Enter SD No. [1-99] then Tel No. + #)

as in *74 55 21225551212#

*752# or *752 and waiting a few seconds would read back the value for Speed Dial 2

This is how to set speed dial 10 to 1234567
Dial *7410#
Wait for tone
Dial 1234567#

You need the pause because without it the above could be interpreted as setting speed dial 1 to 01234567

Edit:
What are you trying to do?

Ok, thanks. Here's what happened. After dialling *74 I expected a confirmation tone to enter the SD number then the phone no. (That is to say, I expected to dial *74 (wait for tone) 10 (wait for new tone) 6465551212.

Thanks.
