Title: Caller ID with my Cordless phone and Google Voice..
Post by: DaveB304 on December 13, 2014, 06:43:17 AM
So, I just got my Obi202 and set it up with no hitches..   Great purchase..
Google voice is working awesome..

but the cordless phone i bought allows me to import all my contacts from my cell phone.   But it doesn't use that imported information for caller id...

Do any cordless phones do this, or is there a better option..

Thanks
Dave

Are you saying that the phone displays the caller's number but not the corresponding name in its phone book?

Correct..

The phone number shows up..

But Caller ID just says  "Unknown Caller"
And I verified the number is in the phone book that it downloaded from my phone.

Thanks

Is the phone supposed to display names of matched numbers? The few that I have experience do.

There are a couple of diagnostic tests you could do.

1. Is it only failing with imported numbers from the cellphone?  If you manually enter a name and number in the phone book, what happens?

2. What happens if you try the phone on a POTS line with CLI?
