Title: keep having to reboot obi 100
Post by: mgh24 on January 26, 2015, 09:59:41 AM
Don't know how long I have been using the device, but over a year, probably closer to 2 years, and never had a problem, always worked perfectly.

Now I have to reboot every day or two to get a dial tone (the red light will be flashing on the device).  I have not tried a firmware update.  When I dial ***6 I get the message that I don't need it, and can't try to do it manually as I cannot log on to the page when I enter the IP address in my browser.

Any ideas?

Any help is much appreciated!

Some thoughts:
o  Should not be a firmware version issue.
o  Connecting cables/wiring/phones are compromised/damaged, affecting device operation?
o  Device is dying?
o  Power adapter is damaged/failing/substandard, affecting device operation?
o  Device settings are 'scrambled'?  Factory reset and reconfigure.

Assuming the power is good, check the WAN and TEL cables and connect a good phone to it... reset to factory defaults and reconfigure to see if it returns to normal.  And be prepared to replace it.

Many thanks.  I will try what you have suggested today.
