Title: obi100 dying or phone power?
Post by: joboxxer on January 28, 2015, 07:23:18 PM
I keep losing my dial tone on obi100. reboot sometimes fixes it sometimes quits right away. I have phone power with google voice? my Internet isnt having any problems. It has worked fine for years.

Try another power supply if you have a 12 volt one with suitable plug handy. Check its label that centre is +ve.

I kept the power supplies from some broken/outdated equipment that I tossed. Two of them (12V 1A) seem to work with the OBi (SP registers to provider). I will do more testing later. I don't currently have the need, but it's nice to know I now have backup.

Thanks

i tried a different power supply but no change. I also did a reset. if i reboot it works once. in advanced dashboard under phone status i get

State   On Hook
LoopCurrent   0 mA
VBAT   57 V (12.1 V)
TipRingVoltage   45 V
LastCallerInfo   --

after i check for dial tone and hang up i get

State   Off Hook
LoopCurrent   19 mA
VBAT   42 V (12.2 V)
TipRingVoltage   38 V

and then the dial tone goes away
