Title: Is it possible to have more than one provider on one SP
Post by: rom54 on February 19, 2015, 01:10:46 PM
In order to have enhanced Called ID for incoming and outgoing calls, I am attempting to configure my Obi508vs so that outgoing calls are made via Ringto and incoming calls are handled via Callcentric. I am also trying to set things up so that the caller calls line 1 and if that is busy it is forwarded to line 2. If line 2 is busy forward to line 3 and so forth.

The problem is that the Obi508 has a maximum of 9 SPs (service providers). I am trying to configure 8 lines. So that would mean I need 16 SPs.

I am not familiar with Obi Expert Mode.

Can someone help?

No, you cannot have more than 1 provider per SP.

However, you can use a Voice Gateway to make outgoing calls via a provider IF that provider permits outgoing calls without SIP registration.  Some providers do and some do not.  I don't know about the 508 but other OBis have 8 VGs.

Thank you.

Would you happen to know if Ringto requires SIP registration?
