Hi,
I just bought one Obi110 and I am trying to install it in France. I have a problem with caller ID
My caller ID does not work for incoming calls on the phone. If I
unplug Obi110 power adapter, it's working (both number and name). If I go to
call history, I can see the correct caller ID under Line1. But this number is not
appearing on my phone (I have only unknown number).
I've tried settings suggested by obi support without success.
Physical Interfaces -> PHONE Port
By default "CallerIDTrigger" has a value of "After First Ring".
There are other alternate selections:
"After Polarity Reversal", "Before First Ring"
Can you try to change it one at a time, then have an incoming call to see whether you now see Caller ID.
If not, please try "CallerIDMethod" to have value of "FSK(V.23)"
So, Line1 gets the caller ID (name+number) but it's not sent through to the phone.
Can you please help me...
Salut,
Vous pouvez essayer utiliser un autre téléphone avec identification de l'appelant pour tester la compatbility de votre téléphone actuel.
Bonjour du Quebec.
I think we should continue in English so that others can understand.
Bonjour :-)
Thanks for your reply... Actually I've already tested with 2 other telephones... I have the same result... I am quite sure that there is some configuration issue... I am still searching...
CID standard for France is different to any others that have been discussed on this forum. They use ETSI format. OBihai you can compare your CID notes to the following French standards. You can download a PDF of this here: Explication du codage des trames Caller ID en France (Format PDF)

It seems the OBi may not be passing proper CID to phones in France. It would be nice if there were others who have success stories in France who would like to share.
You will let us know your results.
Riyas,
The only time the OBi truly 'passes' CallerID to the PHONE Port is when the OBi is powered off. In this case, the telephone is connected directly to the incoming line and the OBi is totally out of the picture. The fact that you see CallerID in this case proves the telephone is capable of displaying French CallerID.
In all other cases, the OBi actually generates ringing and CallerID itself. When you try the various Physical Interfaces -> PHONE Port options, it's very important to make sure you test every individual combination:
FSK (Bell 202) + After First Ring
FSK (Bell 202) + After Polarity Reversal
FSK (Bell 202) + Before First Ring
FSK (V.23) + After First Ring
FSK (V.23) + After Polarity Reversal
FSK (V.23) + Before First Ring
After selecting each combination, click on Submit at the bottom of the page and then click on Reboot in the upper right corner of the page. Once the OBi is finished rebooting, place a call to the OBi and check for CallerID on the telephone. If none of the six combinations produce CallerID on the telephone, there's likely a problem with the OBi properly generating CallerID to the French standard.

I didn't post what you quoted, but Babel Fish will translate it for you:

Hi,
Here is another site in English with references to CID standards. Mentions standards in France as well. Might provide some insight.
http://www.nmscommunications.com/manuals/6709-13/chap5.htm#275469
I believe these are the relevant pages from the site QBZappy referenced:
http://www.nmscommunications.com/manuals/6709-13/chap5.htm#271586
http://www.nmscommunications.com/manuals/6709-13/appc.htm#266599
These would imply the likely settings should be:
FSK (Bell 202) + Before First Ring
or
FSK (V.23) + Before First Ring
My bet would be on FSK (V.23), but I would still test all 6 possible combinations to make sure.
Hello, I'm french and from france and i use caller id with a standard modem, I'll take a look at the topic and give you help if possible after.
Regards.
Hi guys,
Thank you all for your help... I've tried all the settings suggested by RonR... Finally, it's working :)
The one that works is : FSK (V.23) + After First Ring => Name and number working
But when I recieve a gtalk call (I've registered my gmail account in SP2), my phone is ringing but no username. In call History, gtalk username is there (Maybe I am asking too much ;) )
Anyway guyz, thanks a lot for your help....

You should also try FSK (V.23) on Physical Interfaces -> LINE Port -> CallerIDDetectMethod and use it there too if it works. Bell 202 and V.23 use the same tone frequencies, but if V.23 is the correct method on the PHONE Port, it should also be the correct method on the LINE Port.
Thanks RnoR, I've changed my line portal to FSK (V.23)... Now when I recieve gtalk calls, I am getting gmail usernames :)
Thanks a lot guys
