Sorry for asking more noob questions, but this information is completely missing from any of the official Obihai documents (
http://www.obitalk.com/obinet/pg/obhdev/speeddial). Those documents won't even tell you have to use speed dial (I discovered by trial and error that it's just the speed-dial digit followed by a star - maybe all you VOIP/PBX experts already knew this but the rest of us need to be spoon fed).
So ... what are those the pre-existing speed dials, and can I delete them?
The first one has the name "Soft Phone" ... and it's grayed out ... I can't delete it. This was there when I first setup the obitalk account ... if it doesn't work then why do I have to have it occupy a speed-dial slot? Can I move it to a speed-dial slot other than #1 since it's useless to me? I don't even want a "Soft Phone".
The second one has the name I gave my obi100 device. I guess it's only useful if I have another obihai device to call it, yes? I bought one, just haven't set it up yet. So why does it start with **9 instead of simply show the 11 digit phone number attached to the device? Is there an advantage of dialing the **9+number instead of the 11 digit phone number when calling from one device to another?
