I got it to work with Localphone. I tried it out calling a place in HK that I have ordered two-way radio equipment, and it worked. Maybee when calling a UK number, I think I don't have to enter the country cose as Localphone is based in the UK.

So, instead of preceding the number with **2, I created a Voice Gateway VG1 with the trunk specifier of *1.

A journeyman electrician sent his apprentice with a 5-gallon bucket and was told to put the ends of the service drop in the bucket and fill it with volts. He was there all day.

and here is one I tried to a UK number that didn't go anywhere (no error message)
Call 2   08/18/2011    18:05:40
Terminal ID   PHONE1   SP2
Peer Name
Peer Number   **20114401664485020   0114401664485020
Direction   Outbound   Outbound
18:05:40   New Call
18:05:45   End Call

You've probably realized already that this isn't a valid UK number. The leading 0 on an area code should not be dialed from overseas. Some area codes starting with 08 are special (toll free or premium rate) and may not be reachable form abroad either.  This problem might affect the 0844 number given in a different example.
