A question on "UpTime" under system status.

I and my parents have obi200's that will accumulate days of "UpTime" under system status and then will be apparently reset by the obi portal or just reset themselves at random times.
I'm curious if they would act the same way if they were not managed via the obi portal?
It doesn't seem to cause any connectivity problems but I'm just wondering why, or is it normal behavior?

FWIW, my 202 is registered with OBiTalk, but with all auto-provisioning disabled (but with OBiTalk voice service still enabled), and I don't recall ever seeing its uptime change autonomously.  It only resets if I reboot it.  If you don't disable auto-provisioning, the OBiTalk portal will occasionally push changes to your box, and most of them require a reboot to take effect, resetting the uptime stats.
