Can a GV phone number be ported to other VOIT services or landline providers?

With some kindly help from this board, I have finally got my OBI200 working as to calling out and receiving calls.  I don't anticipate using any of the fancier GV services, so won't miss them if they choke....

I managed to replace the Texas number with 360 area code as I originally intended.  But now I'm wondering, is it possible to port the new GV number into other VOIT or conventional landline providers if for any reason GV disappears or I don't like the performance...?

Any thoughts...?

I believe Google charges $20 to port in or port out.  Of course, you'll also have to confirm with whatever company you'd like to port to that they can indeed port in from Google.
