Hi. I'm a new user of Obi110

I have successfully set up Google Voice as SIP1. I can dial out and get calls in as primary number
I have successfully set use the PSTN line by using a # before the number I call.

I can NOT use my callcentric number as SIP2. I dial **2 and the number and it doesn't work.

I'd like to use callcentric for out going calls some times and Google voice for others and I want to use **2 to chose which one to use at different times.

RonR

What happens when you dial a number prefixed with **2 and what shows up in the OBi Call History?

SteveinSF

Here's my digitmap
([1-9]x?*(Mpli)|[1-9]S9|[1-9][0-9]S9|911|**0|***|#|**1(Msp1)|**2(Msp2)|**8(Mli)|**9(Mpp)|(Mpli))

Here's my outbound call route.
[1-9]x?*(Mpli)|[1-9]S9|[1-9][0-9]S9|911|**0|***|#|**1(Msp1)|**2(Msp2)|**8(Mli)|**9(Mpp)|(Mpli))

Here are the last few calls on history.

Here's my outbound call route.
[1-9]x?*(Mpli)|[1-9]S9|[1-9][0-9]S9|911|**0|***|#|**1(Msp1)|**2(Msp2)|**8(Mli)|**9(Mpp)|(Mpli))

That's not an OutboundCallRoute - it's a copy of the PHONE Port DigitMap.

According to the Call History, **2 calls are going to SP2.

Is SP2 Service Status in the OBi showing registered?

Do Callcentric logs show the calls?

SteveinSF

oops.
Here is the outbound call route
{([1-9]x?*(Mpli)):pp},{(<#:>|911):li},{**0:aa},{***:aa2},{(<**1:>(Msp1)):sp1},{(<**2:>(Msp2)):sp2},{(<**8:>(Mli)):li},{(<**9:>(Mpp)):pp},{(Mpli):pli}

at my CallCentric site it doesn't  show any calls made.

By checked to you mean checked as under Obitalk settings or default device?

I just checked the default device and submitted it. I then called. Still Nothing.

FWIW, I use nothing but ProxyServer and OutboundProxy on Callcentric and it works perfectly.

You mean dead silence?

According to the Call History, the call was being attempted for 30 seconds.

SteveinSF

#9
Yes dead silence. I hear no ringing on my hand set (and of course no incoming ring on my cell phone)
(edited to change on to no)

RonR

If possible, temporarily bypass your router by connecting the OBi directly to your modem.  Power-cycle both units after making the direct connection.  When Callcentric show registered again, try your call again.

SteveinSF

That didn't work either. I got a "The number did not receive a response from the service provider."

Are you sure the OBi had Internet service at the time?  Always check **9 222 222 222 to make sure in these situations.

SteveinSF

Okay, that was it. It appears that the problem is in the router and how it deals with callcentric, Google voice is fine. I have a fairly new Netgear router.

What should I look for in settings?

RonR

Which Netgear router do you have (model number)?

If the router has a SIP ALG option, disable it.

I don't use OBiTalk so don't know what it looks like there.  I would like you to turn the feature on.  When accessing the OBi directly, you do that by unchecking the box in the Default column and checking the box in the Value column.  If you have done this correctly, the registration status should show e.g. Registered (server=204.11.192.31:5080; expire in 29s) (The IP address and expire time may be different, but it should show port 5080).

If the above does not help, please post: Modem make/model?  Separate router (if any) make/model?  Any special settings in modem or router?

Stewart

On a typical Netgear router, on the WAN Setup page, check Disable SIP ALG, and set NAT Filtering to Open.

This may not be needed if you set X_DnsSrvAutoPrefix.

FWIW, turning on X_DnsSrvAutoPrefix breaks my perfectly working Callcentric.

After a reboot, I get SIP registration (on port 5080) with a 60 second expiry interval counting down.  At the 30 second mark, the OBi tries to renew the registration and it fails from that point on.

Turning off X_DnsSrvAutoPrefix restores my perfectly working Callcentric.

TADA!!!
STEWART WINS!
I disabled the SIP ALG option.

it works! It works! :D :D :D

Now I should quit while I'm ahead, but I really want to change the incoming ring tones.  :)

What I don't understand is WHERE to change them and if I just type in a new number (with all the bellcore-dr1 and stuff ) Is there some place where I can hear the difference to see which I like. I think number 5 might be good, but how do I know?
