Are VoIP.ms sub-accounts only useful if you have more than one ATA?

Hello:

I am trying to understand the purpose(s) of setting up sub-accounts in VoIP.ms.

If you do not have multiple OBi boxes, is there any point to setting up sub-accounts?

If there are any advantages, what might they be.

Thanks,

Rob.

A sub-account may be useful for a smartphone app and/or softphone, so you could make or receive a call while another family member is using the OBi.  You might also configure one on a VGx, to provide an easy way to make calls with an alternate outbound caller ID.

MB..

You can also use them to provide different caller-id info.  (e.g. "home" calls have "home" caller id, "work" calls have "work" caller id.).

This assumes you are registering different sub-accounts to SP1 and SP2.
