Accessing Google Voice mailbox from home phone

I just purchased and connected my Obi100 device to my Google Voice account and I am loving it so far.  The question I have is when I want to check my voice messages from the home phone, it automatically connects me and starts playing messages.  I do not want that to happen.  I want to have to hit * and then the pin code in order to hear them.  I have changed the GV settings on the device to ask for pin and also require * and pin but neither work.  Any suggestions?

Each "forwarding phone" in your phones list at google voice has a setting for automatic or manual voicemail access. But normally each forwarding phone has it's own number. Google Talk's number is, and always will be, your google voice number so even with it set for manual access, it will always go straight to voicemail retrieval.
