I came across this thread by Ron R

Can someone give me some examples of how this is used and the advantages it would have.

thanks Larry

We all know that we can use single stage dialing from an Obi endpoint through another Obi. But from a regular phone you have to go through the AA (or callback) to place a call.

this allows you to call through an Obi, using single stage dialing, from any sip based client, such as a voip phone connected to a router, as if it were a genuine Obi endpoint.

I have used obitalk to forward make calls from one OBi through a second Obi, what are the benefits of doing it this way?

this configuration is for use without a second Obi. If you have a voip phone (Grandstream etc) plugged directly into a router somewhere, you can place calls through an Obi using single stage calling.
