when I first started using the Obi it was very evident of the delay when answering a call (obi has to press 1). but it quickly got better. We don't even notice it now.

That's surprising -- we don't have a delay at all with just the Obi202 and GV.  The only time we have it is when we have SimonTelephony in the setup for caller ID name.  Are you using ST?
