So my phone rings at any random times from weird numbers. When I answer I just hear the phone disconnect followed by it ringing again from the same number. This goes on about once a day for about 2 minutes or so. Random hours too, sometimes in the middle of the night.

When I check the call logs from my voip provider (voip.ms). None of these calls are listed in my call history. When I check my call logs on my Obi110 they're there. Check out this imgur album to see what I'm talking about.

I tried disabling ObiTalk but unfortunately I just got another call today. It's pretty annoying. What can I do? These numbers aren't even real. 555-0000? Really? 111? Seriously?

What is happening here and how do I stop it?

thegoat54,

Welcome,

Ianobi has some good advice on blocking these Unsolicited incoming SIP spam calls. Search the forum for some of his wisdom. It may be an ongoing effort if different CID numbers show up over time.

You are probably being port scanned by people looking for LD access.
The first thing to do is simply change all ports to non-default: 5060 is not mandatory.
The allowed range is 5060 to 5070. Also, all ports do not have to match.
You can use three different ones.
Even 36999 and 26999 work with Google Voice.

The post referred to is this one:

In that post giqcass helpfully lists unallocated ports that we could use that do not conflict with other uses. I have now moved up to the range 5466 - 5499.
