Well GV Text Notification Continue to Work After May 15th?

My understanding is that GV voice services will stop May 15th because of the protocol changes Google is making. My question is does this also stop the Text Message Notification feature on the Obi devices. I ask because Gmail is involved.  Thank you.

Google voice services will continue to work after May 15th.

Obi devices will no longer be able to directly connect to google voice after May 15th.  Since the obi device will no longer  be able to directly communicate with Google voice any longer, any service associated to that connection will no longer work including SMS.

BTW the cut off date is Mmay 14th.For the last hold outs

I never depended on GV for my main service, but the past couple of weeks it has been disconnecting at random times. 
Pleased that my new PAID VOIP service allows 2 concurrent outbound calls, unlike my old POTS line.
