Transfer GVoice to original Gmail account?

I set up Vestalink on OBI110 with call forwarding to deal with the impending GVoice change. Now I wonder if I can eliminate the dedicated Gmail account by transfering my GVoice number to my main Gmail/GVoice account. Or would that cause new problems by fixing something that ain't broke? It seems that GVoice would work better for me from my main Gmail...

You can transfer a GV number to another gmail account, but only the number. Any stored texts, recorded calls, call history, etc. will not be transferred.
