Thanks everyone for bringing this to our attention.  We have replicated the issue and will hopefully have a fix in the near future.

Currently using iPhone magicApp Free Calls App since OBiON App isn't working with Apple iOS 8.

Another available App is netTALK.  netTALK does ring my iOS device when asleep.  OBiON doesn't.

iOS 8.1 is available, but I don't plan to upgrade for a week or so.  Can someone with iOS 8.1 confirm behavior of the OBiON app? 

Update that I received from Obi support is that they are still working on a fix.

I can confirm upgrading to IOS8.1 on a iPhone 6 does not fix the problem.

I just got an Obi200 and was eager to try out the iPhone app.

Apparently that's not to be. Is there any ETA on this?

I am a tad uneasy about using a service where the iphone app is put into limbo for months. Is this normal? Is my Obi200 going to simply 'stop working' at some undetermined future point?

Same problem here.
I have an iPhone running iOS 7.1.2 and an iPad running iOS 8.1.1
OBiOn works on the iPhone but is stuck on acquiring service on the iPad

A meaningful update should be posted.
By now you should know what the root cause it.

Are you waiting for an iOS update ?
Are you waiting for your 3rd party developer to fix it ?
Are you out of money to pay for the update ?

I received this response when I wrote to support about a month ago: "The developers are aware of the problem with iOS.  There is currently no target date for that patch.  Follow us on Twitter and Facebook to get updates."

The latest app version was published 2 years ago and advertised to be working with iOS 3.2 or later! If there is no target date, I am wondering if there is any plan to develop a fix for it.

For now, I removed the app from my IPAD.

I just received this for Christmas and was disappointed that the Iphone app does not work.  I have left a 1 star review on Amazon.com and the note that I will update once they fix this.

I believe we will have to escalate this issue as we have not received any update in a couple months.
