Since there is uncertainty about the Obitalk special plan, I decided to take the proven path forward. I already have a free, personal unlimited monthly plan/number setup, so I decided to just go ahead and try to create a sub-acct under the one I have, and maybe convert them to Obitalk special plans later.
I first submitted a porting request for my two home numbers, selecting the prepaid annual personal unlimited plans to obtain free porting. The online port application is not without issues. I got logged out before I hit 'submit', and the dialog just hung forever. 2nd time, it completed but review of the ticket showed it had missed one of my 3 attachments. I had to edit the ticket and add the missing file.
Update - Porting of the two numbers took 7 days, and was no cost for personal unlimited plans with annual prepaid.
A few questions about adding a sub-acct. My intent is to create a sub-acct that will share funds with the main acct, but use a different mailbox, call flow, etc. I don't necessarily need a separate login for that sub-acct.
Under Account Preferences->SIP Registration, I have one primary SIP user name (10digit), which is also my Anveo primary acct#. There is also a generated SIP password which allows the 202 to work with Anveo.
When I added a sub-acct it prompted for a user name and email. I gave it a unique one since I thought it necessary. It created a new 10digit SIP user name/acct#, but it did not give me a new SIP password to go with it. Am I supposed to use my existing SIP password for every sub-acct?
Fixed - I just needed to go into sub-acct Preferences->Sip Registration and register before it gave me a new SIP password.
The sub-acct dialog did ask me to create a new password, but this is so the sub-acct can have a separate website login, and separate email address.
The sub-acct got created, but will not register from the Obi. The reason looks like I don't have e911 on that sub-acct. With Anveo is it possible to avoid a 2nd e911 charge for the 2nd number at the same house address? What if I used the same user name/email to create the sub-acct?
Fixed - I just needed to go into sub-acct Preferences->e911 and add the address. Whatever you add appears to overwrite the primary account. I also got dinged another .80, so I guess the charge is not 'per address', but 'per user/per address'. Could I have reused my same user name, login to avoid the extra charge?
Update - What I missed is that I needed to go into Sub-Acct->Action->Move Phone Numbers to move the number for my line2 to the sub-acct. Once I did this, the Phone Number Edit dialog showed only one number under each acct, and reported it as "assigned to" the correct acct. Once this was done, I could edit the e911 address info to be unique for each number.
