I acquired a new Obi110 and need a bit of help.

The unit is HardwareVersion 2.8   with SoftwareVersion   1.3.0 (Build: 2872)

The inbound POTS line is call-forwarded to a voip telephone number which is configured  as SP1. This is done so that we can take advantage of inbound calls having an automated attendant.

We want *11 calls (411,611,911 etc) , *72, *73 (for call-forward/call-forward cancel) to go out the POTS line.

All other outbound calls go out through SP1.

The other issue is that since the inbound calls are call-forwarded, we still get a single ring when an inbound call comes in and gets forwarded. That is confusing people as they try to answer it. I think the obvious change is that I could set DO NOT DISTURB on the LINE port. If that is the only solution to stopping the one-ring, then I'll have to give them step by step instructions as to how to handle the internet outages. That would be to disable Do Not Disturb and Disable Call Forward until the outage is over. Yes, in a perfect world, they would port the Pots number to Voip and be don e with it, but they want the number to remain pots for now. Perhaps if there is a way to just ignore the first ring through pots...

I am open to suggestions and a configuration example for the LINE issues. The Voip side I am very familiar with.

Physical Interfaces -> Phone Port -> DigitMap
Change rule 911 to x11

Physical Interfaces -> Phone Port ->
Add the following to the beginning of the OutboundCallRoute:
{(x11):li},

I don't think POTS lines support multiple simultaneous calls, so you can't forward an inbound POTS call out the same POTS line.

Do you always forward to the same number? Do you enter the forwarding number every time you enable call forwarding with *72?

The phone shouldn't ring when the call is forwarded. Is phone that rings attached to the OBi110 or is it connected directly to the POTS line? A phone connected directly to the POTS line will ring once.

The final firmware version is 2886.

I don't fully understand about the incoming POTS being forwarded to a VoIP service on SP1to get AA. You can have the AA answer the LINE port just the same way as it can answer a call in on a SP. I do that (in my case selectively based on Caller ID) and don't experience any single ring from the PHONE port.

azrobert is correct. Neither the LINE port of an OBi nor a POTS line can support two simultaneous calls.

We are not using the call forwarding to go to the OBI AA, rather Voip.MS's.

The pots line is forwarded to a Voip.MS number. There we use time of day routing to send calls to voicemail or give them the menu (Press 1 for directions, press 2 for tour information, press 3 for info about the vrbo rental, press 4 to leave voicemail). If they press 0 the call comes to the Obi through SP1.

The problem is that the telco sends a 1 ring notice down the pots line and into the Obi and to the attached phone, to remind us that call forwarding is still in effect. "One short reminder tone will sound on your phone when a call is being forwarded. You cannot answer this call from your home."

Thus, we are not actually receiving a call inbound through the pots line, rather just the short ring. Either we need to find a way to ignore that short ring, or use DND.

There are times where we lose electric and/or Internet. They will need to pick up the phone and disable call-forwarding and answer all calls, since the Obi would not have power or Internet.

This Obi does NOT have the relay and it wouldn't matter as we have to disable call forwarding anyway and perhaps do not disturb.

I didn't understand what you wanted. I thought the OBi110 was doing the call forward.

Change Star Codes *72 and *73
Star Codes -> Star Code Profile A
*72(<li(*72)>), DND and FWD, set(li($Dnd),1), call($Code)
*73(<li(*73)>), NoDND and NoFWD, set(li($Dnd),0), call($Code)

These new Star Codes will set or disable DND and send the Star Code to POTS.
