Hello,

I have an obi202 setup SP1 to only ring phone1 and SP2 to only ring phone2, but when an incoming call arrives both ports ring.  How can I set it up so that only phone1 rings with SP1 and phone2 rings with SP2?

You seem to contradict yourself.   ;D  But probably we can guess that you meant to say.

Exactly what changes have you made to the 202's default settings?  And by "an incoming call arrives both ports ring" do you mean coming in on SP1 or SP2 or either?

I want an incoming call on SP1 to only ring phone1 and an incoming call from SP2 to only ring phone2.  Right now what is happening is that an incoming call on SP1 rings both phone1 and phone 2 and the same thing with SP2.

I have set on the config SP1 to only ring phone1 and SP2 to only ring phone 2, but it is not working.

please help

Just a guess but...

On the Obi202, the Phone 1 connector contains both phone 1 and phone 2 connections. Phone port 2 only contains wires for phone 2. This is done so that people can use a 2 line phone in the phone 1 port. You are probably using a 4-wire phone cable and dialing the number for phone 2 also rings phone 1?

Try a 2 wire phone wire in port 1 and see if that solves your problem.

HP often ships 2 wire cables with printer/fax machines

If using OBiTalk, use "OBi Expert Configuration" to Disable Call Waiting (Uncheck: "CallWaitingEnable") for both Phone-1 and for Phone-2.

If you don't use OBiTalk, directly log onto your OBi202 device via the web "Admin" page and make the changes.

Once the changes are made via either of the two methods, "Submit" the changes, then reboot your OBi device.

Physical Interfaces
    PHONE Port      PHONE1 Port
        Calling Features
CallWaitingEnable   <= ("Uncheck - Call Waiting Enable").

Physical Interfaces

CallWaitingEnable   <= ("Uncheck - Call Waiting Enable").
Are you sure that changing CallWaitingEnable has any impact on whether a phone is rung or not?

drgeoff,
you are correct, I misread the issue and shared the solution to another problem.  I removed the answer posted.
